The Yamunotri and Badrinath Tour takes travelers on a remarkable pilgrimage to two sacred sites in Uttarakhand, India, namely Yamunotri and Badrinath. This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the spiritual heritage and natural beauty of the region while seeking blessings from the deities.
Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River and is revered as one of the Char Dham (four sacred abodes) in Hindu mythology. The tour typically begins with a visit to Yamunotri, where devotees can take a holy dip in the hot water springs, perform rituals at the Yamunotri Temple, and seek blessings from Goddess Yamuna. After experiencing the tranquility of Yamunotri, the tour proceeds to Badrinath, one of the holiest pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Badrinath Temple, located on the banks of the Alaknanda River, attracts devotees from all over the world. Travelers can participate in the evening aarti (ritual) at the temple, explore nearby attractions like Mana Village (the last inhabited village on the Indian-Tibetan border), and soak in the spiritual ambience of the place.
Arrive at Haridwar railway station. Received by ITT executive and Drive to Barkot via Mussoorie and visit Kempty Falls on the way. On arrival at Barkot, check in to your hotel/camp. The rest of the day is free to relax and store your energy for the Pahad(hill) Yatra of Yamunotri the next day. Dinner and Overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 2: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot
After breakfast, depart for Hanumanchatti (40 Km), Janki Chatti (8 km). Here you will begin the First Pahad Yatra of Yamunotri (6 Km trek). You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). The trek passes through a lush green valley, a profusion of conifers, rhododendrons, cacti, and several species of Himalayan shrubs.
Morning after breakfast, move to Pipalkoti via Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at the Pipalkoti hotel.
Morning after breakfast, move to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Tapt Kund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in the evening. Brahamakapal is important for Pind Daan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spots like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinath Ji. Stay overnight at Badrinath.
Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
Vasundhara: As the name suggests, Vasundhara is a magnificent and beautiful water fall. This place is 5 kms. from Badrinath out of which 2 kms. is motor-able up to Mana.
Bhim Pul: On the other side of Mana village, a heavy rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.
Vyas Gufa (cave): Nearly Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have appeared the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.
Badrinath Weather: The maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. Warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme chilly climatic conditions of weather, this time is usually closed for tourists.
